The premise

Nora Mercer makes her living talking about ghosts.

During the day, Nora and her co-host Nick Reyes research alleged hauntings, interview historians and witnesses, inspect buildings, edit audio, and produce their independent podcast, Field Static.

At night, they turn the microphones toward the dark.

Most investigations produce nothing that survives serious scrutiny. Old buildings knock and settle. Radio interference sounds like language. Witnesses misremember. Tour guides embellish. People fake evidence.

Sometimes, however, something answers.

Unexplained is not the same as supernatural.

Field Static treats paranormal claims as cases to examine, not conclusions to decorate.

UnresolvedSomething happened that cannot currently be explained. That alone does not make it paranormal.

ConfirmedWithin Field Static's fictional standards, the event demonstrates repeatable or responsive behavior that survives serious scrutiny.
